Student Events and Opportunities
In 2010 a new committee, Student INS (SINS), was formed within INS to foster the professional development of students by promoting student contributions to the study of brain-behavior relationships. We are pleased to announce that several events have been organized by SINS and will take place during the 39th Annual Meeting. The times will be announced in the meeting program.
The events include:
Students of the INS General Meeting
SINS will hold a general meeting on Thursday, February 3 at 12:15 PM to introduce the Student INS committee and present its mission and goals. Additional meeting aims include soliciting ideas for training and professional development resources and events, encouraging student involvement in the INS, recruiting new SINS committee leaders, and reviewing the results of a student needs survey. You can complete the survey at: https://byu.qualtrics.com/SE?SID=SV_6KyQesgv3o5TXVy
We encourage students and associate members of INS to complete this survey even if you are unable to attend the meeting.
Student Symposium
SINS will present a student symposium on Thursday, February 3 at 2pm. This symposium is designed to highlight exceptional student work that provides a novel contribution to the field of neuropsychology. This year the symposium will include 5 student speakers:

Tara Kane, Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, Palo Alto University

Professional Development Workshop
SINS is committed to serving the professional development needs of students. One of the ways we intend to meet this objective is to offer a professional development workshop on Friday, February 4 at 9:30am. The topic of the professional development workshop is “Publishing in Scientific Journals.” The workshop will consist of a brief presentation by Kathy Haaland, Editor of JINS, Stephen Rao, President of INS, and Russell Bauer, Incoming President of INS. A question and answer session will follow where you will have a chance to pose your questions to these professionals who have experience with various aspects of the publication process.

Please pass this information along to other students and we look forward to seeing you all there!
Student Volunteer Opportunities
The INS office utilizes volunteers for monitoring CE sessions, assisting at poster sessions, helping at the registration desk and stuffing delegate bags. Students and associate members are encouraged to volunteer as a way to get involved with the Society. Volunteers are required to register and pay for the meeting but are entitled to a complimentary CE course for every 3 hours of volunteering.
Please complete the Volunteer Application Form and submit to the INS office.
