Academic Pediatric Neuropsychologist

University of Chicago’s Department of Psychiatry is searching for a full-time faculty member. The appointee will provide assessment, diagnostic, and consulting neuropsychological services to children, adolescents, and emerging adults presenting with medical illnesses (e.g., cancers, brain tumors, epilepsies, diabetes), neurodevelopmental and neurogenetic disorders (e.g., intellectual disability syndromes, ASD, NF-1), comorbid psychiatric conditions, in outpatient and inpatient settings. Duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Applicants who are able to complement and/or expand the interests of our program, including developing lines of collaborative care, and who may be bilingual (although not required). Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The Neuropsychology Program regionally and nationally recognized for its training, research, and clinical care. Child and Adolescent Section is interdisciplinary in its care and neuropsychology faculty contribute and collaborate with the Consultation/Liaison, Neurodevelopmental, Trauma, and Psychotherapy programs. Pediatric Neuropsychology consults to the pediatric teams within Comer Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Neurology, Neurosurgery, Hematology/Oncology, Rheumatology, Infectious Disease, and Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) hold a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited University-based training program, appropriate coursework and predoctoral training with Pediatric Neuropsychology, 2) hold or be eligible for an Illinois license in Clinical Psychology, 3) be eligible for or currently Board Certified in Clinical Neuropsychology with a Pediatric subspecialization (ABPP/ABCN), 4) completed internship at an APA-accredited medical center, with training in Pediatric Neuropsychology and Pediatric or Child Clinical Psychology, and 5) completed an International Neuropsychological Society/APA Society for Clinical Neuropsychology oriented postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology.
