Make a Difference in Your Community as a Rehabilitation Psychologist

WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, NC is taking applications for a full-time clinical Rehabilitation Psychologist position. This provider will work with patients across the continuum of services at WakeMed which includes acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehab and our Day Treatment program. Primary responsibilities include active interdisciplinary team participation and direct patient care, including health and behavior assessment with medical patients, consultations with staff, education, and interventions as needed. The successful applicant will have specialty training in rehabilitation psychology and have medical center/hospital and/or interdisciplinary treatment team experience. An applicant with lifespan skills would be given greater consideration but this is not a requirement. This person would be credentialed though the hospital’s Medical Staff Services as an independent provider of services.

This position is within WakeMed’s Neuropsychology department, which currently has seven full time Neuropsychologists and one rehab psychologist. The Rehabilitation Psychologist would be primarily engaged in the provision of rehabilitation psychological services with primary populations served at WakeMed, which include stroke, amputee, brain injury, spinal cord injury, mild cognitive impairment, dementia and more.

The work environment within the Neuropsychology Department at WakeMed is relaxed and collegial with a very reasonable workload expectation. No weekends or call. We are looking for someone who in addition to having the required training and clinical skills, has the ability to be a team player and who has excellent interpersonal skills.
