About INS

The mission of the International Neuropsychological Society is to promote the international and interdisciplinary study of brain-behavioral relationships throughout the lifespan.  The Society's emphasis is on science, education, and the applications of scientific knowledge.

The International Neuropsychological Society was founded in 1967 as a scientific and educational organization dedicated to enhancing communication among the scientific disciplines which contribute to the understanding of brain-behavior relationships.  The Society currently has more than 4500 members throughout the world. Membership in the Society includes a subscription to the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society, which is published seven times a year. The Society holds two meetings per year: the North American meeting is held in February and non-North American meeting is held in June or July. Information about membership or future meetings can be obtained from this web site or by contacting the INS office.

Following acceptance into INS, you will begin to receive all news of the society's activities. Your membership dues include a subscription to the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society, the official journal of INS. You will receive all of the issues of the journal for the year in which your membership begins.

Membership cycle is from January to December.  INS collects membership dues from July through December for the following year.  Membership rates are not prorated.

International Liaison Committee

In late 1994, the INS established the International Liaison Committee (ILC) in an effort to promote increased communication and collaboration among neuropsychologists worldwide. The ILC works exclusively as a broker of information. As such, the Committee addresses some of the obstacles of full participation in scientific and clinical activities that many colleagues face. The ILC provides information on INS and outside programs, many which were designed especially for those from developing regions where resources and contact with other neuropsychologists may be limited.
